Nothing like a ThinkGeek midnight release of SDCC exclusives to bring out these Nerdz! Or the story

We have jointly agreed to take a year off Comic Cons because the nerd in charge, Dylan, will be busy at Full Sail University. We have been going to Cons for four years now (love them) and the prospect of going cold turkey has made the Nerdz pretty gloomy. So, when we saw that our ThinkGeek store was having an event that encouraged Cosplay, we could not resist. The event was stated to be from 10 to midnight and selling exclusive Pop Vinyl’s that are debuting at San Diego ComicCon. Dylan dusted off an old favorite and went with Tobi from Naruto. The crowd was decent and a handful were in cosplay. There were trivia contests (who doesn’t love games and prizes) and yes, we won a prize. The “party” was actually a line outside the store till midnight when we would be admitted to the store to line up to purchase the Pop Vinyl’s. That doesn’t really shout party to me, but when in Rome.

Me being me. I had to go to the loo, salle du bain, the WC- the little girls room and the staff were amicable to my request. Whilst I was looing, the boy sneakily eyed the exclusives and was thinking it did not rate the hour and half in full cosplay in the lovely warm summer night. Being the smart lad that he is, he found an acquisition more to his tastes than the exclusives. We purchased said acquisition, Perfect Cell from Dragon BallZ and headed home. The next day was filled with the back story of Perfect Cell from Dragon BallZ and the assembly of the plastic model kit.  The Nerd in Charge was never really a fan of Dragon BallZ when he was kid, but now he is a large fan of the Abridged Dragon BallZ series which brings a new appreciation for the original. Dragon Ball Z Abridged is the title of TeamFourStar’s abridged series based on the Dragon Ball Z Anime. Dragon Ball Z Abridged is a direct parody with most characters and plot lines remaining relatively unchanged. I have watched a few and see why the shows are so popular.

I have a huge appreciation for the Abridged series!

What a wonderful thing it is to try new adventures and learn something new from the boyz at Nerdz Garage!

Welcome to Gamez With Mom Blog; where I post updates on my tabletop gaming and NerdzLife in general.
